Polished Matters
Wednesday, 22 September 2010 15:39

There is a difference between business communication and casual communication; its being polished. Have you been in a business meeting where the person you are meeting uses slang and does not pronounce his/her words completely? An example of "casual" language is, "what's up?" instead of "How have you been?" or "What is new with you?". Regarding casual pronunciation, you may hear that person say "gonna" instead of "going to" or "Whatcha?" instead of "What did you?".  This may seem trivial to some, but being polished and articulate does matter in business. Your clients, supervisors and colleagues do notice.

Your thoughts?
